I love seafood! Sooo good. Growing up in the Caribbean has something to do with it as well as having parents from the Maritimes. However, these days my homestead is trying to only buy meat and seafood very occasionally and then only to buy organic/free range/sustainable products. I was flipping through a cookbook called The Ethical Gourmet that was gifted to us a while back and was reminded of the Blue Ocean Institute Seafood Guide. You can browse the guide on-line which details which fish populations aren’t in danger as well as health information about mercury levels in different types of seafood. They used to have a wallet-sized version of the guide available but it seems they’re sold out! Too bad, I was about to order a bunch for my friends and family. Enjoy!
